Ohana Place announces completion of clubhouse

January 12, 2010

DMCI Homes' modern Polynesian-inspired residential project called Ohana Place has announced the completion of its clubhouse as the latest milestone for this emerging development in Alabang-Las Piñas. The completion is just in time for the target turnover date of the first residential units during the first quarter of the year.

The completion of the clubhouse, also known as the Luau Pavilion, will now provide prospective buyers in the South with a glimpse of what Ohana Place has to offer. This lush tropical paradise that exudes the spirit of the Hawaiian lifestyle is comprised of seven medium-rise condominiums spread across three hectares of tropical terrain located along the highly accessible Alabang-Zapote Road.

As DMCI Homes' first project in the area, it will also establish the developer's reputation and image as a provider of well-esteemed communities for the underserved market of young professionals and start-up families with modest income. Ohana Place will present them with a charming horizontal development with resort-like amenities and facilities with the Luau Pavilion at the heart of the tropical resort lifestyle.

The clubhouse, along with the whole development, exhibits a modern Polynesian-inspired architectural design. The open plan allows natural light and air to flow through the facility while tropical features are infused to exude a refreshing vibe. Steep peak roof and large overhangs create a cool, light and al fresco feel, giving a continuity of the outdoors even inside the pavilion. Natural stone and wood/ wood finish materials on the façade as well as in the interiors further accentuate the natural look of Polynesian architecture.

The Luau Pavilion's Upper Ground floor will serve as the main function area - an open space where residents can relax and enjoy an unobstructed view of the rest of the amenities area. Seating areas for lounging are provided, along with work areas for Wi-Fi users and the like. Walls, ceilings and columns are lightly painted and infused with natural material accents such as stone and natural weaves to give a relaxed atmosphere. Earth-tone tiles are added to complement the natural feel of the area.

On the other hand, the second floor houses the function room, audio-visual area and an open veranda. The fully-air conditioned function room and audio-visual areas are ideal spaces for private social or work-related gatherings. Both elegant and efficiently-designed, the function room has a bar at one corner, while being surrounded by large doors that open up to the verandas. The same earth-tone tiles are used to sustain the design motif of the clubhouse. Wood acoustic panels for the wall and ceiling and carpet tiles for the floor are meanwhile featured in the audio visual room to achieve the appropriate acoustic properties required in the area. Both floors have their own toilet facility for the convenience of residents and their guests.

More service-oriented spaces are found at the lower ground floor, including the Property Management Office, recreation hall, fitness gym, convenience store, water station and shower area. The fully air-conditioned recreation hall has a billiard table, chess tables and bar for lounging while the fitness gym offers various equipment to help the residents keep a healthy lifestyle. These areas are surrounded by a fully-landscaped yard, which allows natural light to come in. The same earth-tone materials are used to establish continuity throughout the clubhouse.

Located right at the heart of the development, the Luau Pavilion is accessible to all residents coming from their respective buildings. In the future, Ohana Place also plans to unveil more facilities such as a basketball court, playground, gazebo area with grill pits, and a water feature near Hanalei building. As in other DMCI Homes communities, the developer maintains its valuable proposition of offering resort-like facilities to cater to the residents' varying needs for active and passive activities.

The completion of the Luau Pavilion also paves the way for the essence of Ohana Place: A community where residents can spend bonding moments on a daily basis while celebrating the spirit of family.
